10 Marketing Predictions for 2015 [INFOGRAPHIC]

There have been many changes in the digital marketing space over 2014, and that has marketers preparing to revise their strategies as we approach 2015. So what is the future of SEO, social media, content marketing, and mobile marketing?

The infographic below, by marketing agency Wheelhouse Advisors, breaks down the top 10 marketing predications for 2015. There are four predictions that I found particularly interesting:

1. The Continued rise in popularity of Content Marketing

Currently, a quarter of marketing budgets are allocated to content marketing efforts and that percentage is expected to increase in 2015. The increase in content marketing budgets is lead by two factors: that interesting content is a top 3 reasons people follow brands on social media and that B2B companies with blogs generate 67% more leads per month on average than non-blogging firms.

2. Data Driven Marketing Efforts

Data, data, data! It is no surprise that a focus on data driven marketing efforts will be one of the top priorities in 2015 since 2014 was all about big data. So how much focus will data have on marketing efforts in 2015? Well…spending on marketing analytics is expected to increase 60% by 2015. Currently, CMOs report that they spend 8% of their marketing budgets on analytics but are reporting that they expect to their investment levels over the next three years. Even further, the adoption of marketing automation technology is expected to increase by 50% by 2015.

3.   Increased in Adoption and Investment in Video Marketing

With decreased attention spans and increased need to quality content, companies are focusing on video marketing as a main component of their 2015 marketing efforts. In particular, companies are focusing on explainer videos to show potential customers how their product or service works without just text and images. Companies are focusing on investing in video because it is reported that high quality videos can increase shopping cart sizes by an 174%. In addition, 75% of executives watch videos at least once a week, 50% watch videos on YouTube, and 65% visit the website after viewing a video. Companies should focus on integrating high quality videos into their website in order to improve their user engagement.

4. Integration of Personalization into Marketing

Personalized marketing has been very popular this year and will continue to grow in 2015. Personalization will be important as 74% of online consumers say that they get frustrated with websites when content appears that it has nothing to do with their interests. In addition, personalized emails can increase click-through rates by up to 14% and conversion rates by 10%.
